Just to let people know, there may be a “digital booklet” to accompany the E.P., but this all depends on me learning how to put it together and whether or not I can do it in time. In it will be the thank you shout outs, some artsy photos and some mixing notes for those interested. I must say though that all depends if I can have it ready in time.

It’s 2014 and within the past week I have seen the Tumblr community legitimize bullying anyone with white / cis / het / male privilege, defend the existence of otherkin, threaten people who constructively linguistically criticize that massive list of (mostly completely contrived)…
Since I’m sick of hearing people freaking out about the FBI/Moneypak virus, I did some research, including purposely downloading the virus to see what it’s all about so here we go:
The virus is a type on ransomware that cyber criminals use in attempt to disguise themselves as the FBI. The FBI virus utilizes Trojan horses in order to gain access and lock computer systems. The FBI virus practices a variety of unethical tactics, including social engineering in attempt to persuade or scare unsuspecting victims to pay an unnecessary fine by making fraudulent claims that the computer has been involved in illegal activity (downloaded or distributed copyrighted material or viewed child pornography, etc.) and demands a penalty fine of $100, $200, $300, or more to be paid in order to unlock the computer system within the allotted time of 48 to 72 hours by use of Moneypak/greendot cards. The FBI Moneypak ransomware virus also states on the fake FBI screen that the computer owner may see jail time or face other consequences if the unnecessary fine is not paid in time.
I’m sure you’ve seen lots of posts on your dash about how to avoid it, but I’m just going to put in this link just in case, I don’t want this post to be too long.
Okay, so what if you do get it? Then what? Well you can look here on how to remove it manually, there are many different options on how to remove it and its a useful resource. (I recommend you bookmark it on your phone/other computer/screenshot the page etc. so you can look at it in the event that you do get it. It’s really not as serious as most tumblr users are making it out to be, and removing it is fairly easy (I removed it in under 10 minutes) so don’t worry.
So can we please have this go viral because people are spreading around misinformation and fear mongering and I’m sick of it
